When a game of chess isn't just a game.
“Did you know that the eight of clubs represents instability?” Hansel’s fingers hovered over a pawn, debating whether or not to move it. He glanced at the sky; it was just after noon, sun tilting towards the west. “Represents internal strife and whatnot.”
“I didn’t.” His opponent was busy watching the board. His stubby beard itched as he waited, sweat trailing down his face. Hansel’s pawn moved forward. His turn.
Beware a beautiful melody...
Looking over her shoulder, she motioned to the two behind her to keep swimming. Many tales were told around the jellyfish pits about how the deeper, darker regions of the sea were dangerous, home only to witches and monsters. All the stories ended with a warning for all merkind to stay away from the shadowed rocky depths, where the graveyard of old ships lay.
But she was curious and daring, and wanted to see for herself. With friends by her side, three little mermaids swam to the border.
This one hits harder than other fairies at times. Or at least at more inopportune times.
In olden days, as they say,
An Epiphany fairy might be on its way.
Whether you write for pleasure
Or write for pain,
Ideas are delivered just the same.
Going vegan isn't just for humans anymore...
The hard thing about being a modern vampire was dealing with humans. More specifically, finding ways to let them in without actually letting them in. Humans have this way of sensing when you don’t quite belong, and the best way to survive is to prove them wrong via blending in.
Unfortunately, this also means a potential increase in your actual friends trying to eat your human ones
The best kind of house-sitter is one that breaths fire.
“Hey, hey!” She frowned at me, motioning to my wings and claws tangling her sheets. “I told you you’re not allowed on the furniture. Get down. You have your own bed and very nice perch.”
I huffed at her, smoke curling around my face, but decided to listen. It wasn’t like her bed was that interesting anyway.
Dreams can come true, but everything has a cost.
It all started with that Dreamcatcher. Why hadn’t he thrown it away!
It was supposed to be a simple gift for a friend. A friend that took that same night as an opportunity to break his heart. Smash it to bits. He had gone home with the dreamcatcher in hand, intending to throw it away. Instead, he had thrown it to one side in a fit and left it in the corner of his room.
Runt isn't sure what to think when his whole world is turned upside-down.
Runt knew he shouldn’t have, yet he couldn’t help himself. His father had told him all the stories passed down from his father and his father before him. Generations of the Equs Tribe had lived in separation for the greater good. His father told him how the Tribe almost caused its own extinction because groups of them simply couldn’t get along. The hooved giants had fought so much and so long there were very few left.
Which is why his father warned him against being around others for anything other than propagating.
The ultimate battle between those who love hot cups of plant-water.
The Battle At Peppermint Hill
Dear Brewmaster Tet,
I am pleased to say that the battle of Peppermint Hill is going well. The encroachers from the Northern continent have just received our second volley. I cannot wait to hear the pained noises from our double-brewed attack; As per your instructions, we have mixed together cinnamon, ginger, and subtle amounts of marshmallow root for the sneak-attack. If we mixed it right, their mouths will burn today and their stools shall be loose by tomorrow...
Fearing what birds do best...
Dixon stared out the window with a little chirp of a sigh. His beak tapped on the storefront’s glass, the feathery mess of a reflection sullenly staring at him. On the other side, the sun shone brightly while the breeze brushed away any heat coming from the cemented ground. The trees waved at him, trying to entice him to play with the other birds weaving in and out of their branches.
He wanted to join in. He desperately wanted to fly with the others.

This is a story about Jane.
One day, Jane made a snowball.
Jane thought it would be a good idea to try and outrun her snowball.
The Short Stories
From time to time I have minor adventures, whims, or odd ideas that manage to be written down. Below you'll find all my little nonsensical adventures, anything from other-worldly to other-wordly.
Occasionally I get a wild hair and do something I can't particular categorize. So it gets classified as 'nonsense' and put into the corner for others to look at.
To shorten this introduction: I'm a Millennial Gemini Ravenclaw Firebending INTP-T that is somewhere in the range between Enneagram numbers 4-7 (It keeps changing and I keep forgetting which number I'm supposed to be). If that doesn't give you some kind of picture of how I operate then you'll just have to start Googling things.
