...Yeah, I know. I don't have a better word right now. But I am pretty jolly, so it works. It's all good and well this month. Want to know why...?
OK, normally I do just what's in the month, but since this is now 2019 and all, I figure maybe a look at what I'm planning for the year is due. Don't worry, it's mostly cliff-notes. No super long posts if I can help it.
I don't really have a blurb at this point or even a cover (the above is a mock-up, not sure if the cover will look like that at all), but it's what's on the inside that counts, right? Save Point is a self-help/journal project that's been knocking around until now. It's a journal-format book to keep track of the small victories. Victories are hard enough to recognize some days because they don't seem like victories, they seem like something you just 'do'. But when life hits you hard, getting out of bed seems like enough of a challenge...which is where I designed Save Point to focus on. Something like remembering to drink water or making the bed are small victories, and deserve to be recognized as such during the days were you can't seem to do anything else. It's an attempt to focus on the positive present. Instead of focusing on 'this is what I couldn't get done today because I'm such a failure', the questions/prompts are trying to get you to ask 'what DID I do today?' and giving you a space to write down what you need to remember that was positive about that day.
It's mostly finished, just a few more formatting tweaks and a few beta testers to go, and it'll be released by the end of this month! (If you want to know more, keep a close eye on my facebook page for updates!)
Two other projects are in the works; the first of which is a project designed around a WereZomPire concept that has been tossed around last year without landing anywhere...and yet, this year I'm going to write and publish it. My goal is to have it ready to go by summer
The other project is a book of cow jokes. Random ones. Because I feel like the world needs more cow jokes. Who doesn't? The jokes have been written, all that's left is illustration and formatting.
My Redbubble is still up, and after some quick calculations, my goal for this year is to produce 52 designs by the end of 2019. Since it's becoming a bigger thing this year than last year, I may dedicate a page on my blog to the designs, so you can see what they are without leaving the site, but that's not set in stone yet.
And now for the bit I bet you've been waiting for. Or at least will probably be the most excited about, lol. Jules has done decidedly well during 2018. Granted, I have not been the most consistent, but like I said in my Dec post, my goal is to be able to post a chapter a month all through 2019. Along with that, I've decided to start a few more connected stories in the same format. I don't know if they'll be on the blog or through a third party, that'll be decided when the moment comes. Jules, however, will remain in the current format, so no worries. 2019 will see the inclusion of six or seven other Choose Their Adventure stories, where you will get to play through a story starring Rod, Olyvia, and Jake to name a few. I'll be adding three or four between now and June, and the rest will be added between June and Dec.
As a last bit of news, I'm approaching level 30 this year. I'm also replacing 'age' with 'level'. So, in an attempt to celebrate one of the 'big' levels, I'm going to make it a personal goal of mine to do something fun and creative...and you'll start to see '30' come up a lot...30-something-thousand words, 30 designs, one design with "30!!" on it...I'll leave it as a surprise. ;)
So that's it. 2019 is loosely mapped for the exploring. All art, all clever, all fun. I hope 2019 looks just as exciting for ya'll, with many new experiences on the horizon.
